Choose Which Animals Shall Be Featured on the Site Banner
Which Prehistoric Animal(s) Shall be Featured in the Site Banner?
Lately there was discussion about the site getting a new, more fitting banner. So, since the new banner would be to feature one or more prehistoric animals, I have decided to let you, dear members, decide which animals shall represent us!
The poll is multiple choice, so you can select more than one option.
The list of nominees has been compiled over the last week or so from the suggestions of various LOTP members, and we are not accepting any more.

Take you're time. We have all week. Plus you can vote for as many of the nominees as you want. You don't need to choose just one.Dragonith wrote:Hm...this is a toughie...I'll need a moment to think.

Hey, the quotes are working again! (woot!)
I just casted my ballot. Dino, I assume you're making this....I think we should have a "concept art" contest once the animal is chosen.
For those who don't know what concept art is, it's just rough draft drawing to give someone a rough idea of how the ultimate product should look. My understanding as of yet is that Dino will design the creature, which I'll then incorporate into the banner. A concept art contest would ensure we get a posture everyone likes and also that the banner has an overall attractive appearance-- by no means does it have to be the same format as I've implemented thus far, with the dinosaur strolling through the foliage. We can get creative with this. After all, we are creators.

Woot, the quotes are fixed. Ironically, as it gets fixed, the forum starts falling apart.
Yes, I could make the banner. Or someone else could. It doesn't really make a difference as long as it is a design we like. And yes, I was going to be the one responsible for making the creature that would appear in the banner, unless the Mastodon happened to make it in there, in which case I am working out a back-up plan.
I like the idea of a concept art contest. I'll definetly think about doing that after all the votes are in.
Speaking of votes, I'll cast mine in as well...

I'd be fine with making the banner, too, so long as you make the creature to go in it.

Looks like Dilophosaurus and Anchiornis took the lead.

Nope, they're tied with Gastornis and Giganotosaurus now too.

It most certainly has; Gastornis has taken the lead, followed by an 8-way tie for second....Dragonith wrote:And the poll leads have gone to the birds.

Nah, the old LOTP contest thread was like that too, constantly needing to have the poll deadline extended for more votes and such.Dragonith wrote:Seems my contest luck has passed onto here lol.

Nope. I wonder what Vekky thinks of it?
I am considering putting the poll up at the Sporum thread with all the nominees with 4+ votes (to help narrow it down), since this thing seems to have hit a bit of a dead end.

Followed through with my idea. Go to the Sporum thread to vote. This shall now be locked.

Just a thought, in honor of DinoLord, I think it'd be fair to include Parasaurolophus on the list...just saying.

Well, I had initially included Charonosaurus as a substitute to Parasaurolophus, though I suppose I can include it in the new poll.
