What got you interested in dinosaurs/prehistoric life?
Title says it all.
I'd say I got into it around when I was about 2 years old after my toy train burned me.(I liked trains before I started to know about dinosaurs)
I don't really remember the details, but my parents said immediately afterward I liked dinosaurs (it was around christmas,my other toy was a T-rex figurine).I started to learn the popular dino's names, mimic what I thought they behaved like, watched the documentaries and movies 24/7,and even wanted to become a paleontologist.I then learned over 100 different dinosaur names by heart.
So what's your story?

Well, originally I was just into animals in general. So into them that before I started kindergarten, Mom bought the World Atlas of Animals (not a kids' book AT ALL) just to answer all my questions and let me look at the double-page full color biome plates. I knew more animals than anyone else I knew by the time I started school...and to this day I've been learning more about animals.
For me, dinosaurs were no more than plastic toys and kids' books until kindergarten, when I met a friend who was really into dinosaurs. I never got as into them as he did, but asked him all kinds of questions about them. A couple years later, my choice career changed from "zookeeper" to "paleontologist"-- but that didn't last long once I found out it was a hot job in the desert.
My interest in dinosaurs came to life again briefly in eighth grade when I found some books at my library (I had been reading dragon books) and decided to write a paper on dinosaur names.
Again, my interest went dormant through high school and most of college, but news articles on newly discovered fossils sparked a new interest in me again. Since then, I have become familiar with the PaleoDB.
One day, I thought, hmmm, I wonder if there are period-specific sporecasts for dinosaurs...and boom, I found Lords of the Past while making those sporecasts. Today, y'all know those sporecasts as Prehistoria, and my maintenance on those has kept me in the know on dinosaurs.

Heh so in terms of similarities,we all seem to have gotten into dinos at a young age.
And when I asked my parents if I could be a zookeeper, they laughed and I didn't know why until they told me about "elephants"....I smacked myself with a pillow in disgust on that day.

Back when I was a wee toddler, I must have forced my parents to tape Jurassic Park on television for me to watch, and I loved it. I got a bunch of dinosaur books and cheap toys. Then, when I was 4 years old, Jurassic Park III came out, and that further fueled my obsession. I bought a video of the movie, and got a lot of toys from the toy line. Over the years, I got a few dinosaur toys and my interest in dinosaurs started to fade a wee bit, until last year, when I found the Dinosaur Toy Blog.
