Welcome to the Lords of the Past!
Welcome! For those of you who may not know what the LOTP is, here is a little info:
The Lords of the Past (or LOTP) are a group of people who like and create prehistoric creatures. We accept members from creators of the fierce carnivorous dinosaurs, to makers of gentle mammoths. We can share our newest prehistoric creations with each other and I will host some group contests, make a Lords of the Past sporecast and we can talk about anything prehistoric.
To join, all you need to do is have an interest in prehistory, and post one of your prehistoric creations. Thats it!
Here is an opening word from Dadltondmd, LOTP founder and former leader, regarding the forum, taken from its original opening:
Unfortunetly, we recently discovered that due to the Proboards Terms of Service, users under 12 years of age, which accounted for a reasonable portion of our members, were not permitted and had to be deleted. Therefore, Schnautzr once again came to the rescue, by creating this wonderful new forum for us! Thank you!
This thread is a welcome to all new members either to the LOTP or just to the forums. Post your hellos and such here!

And that pretty much sums up what I have to say. As for me, I am Dino589. When I first found out about Spore and saw its creating potential, I quickly knew that I would get it, and that I, like Dalton before me, would be quick to start making dinosaurs. Since then, I have become recognized as a great dinosaur creator and have risen considerably in popularity, both in Spore and within the community. Eventually, Dalton started becoming inactive, so on January 21st, 2010, the ownership of the LOTP was handed on to me.For as long as I can remember I have been obsessed with prehistory. I had tons of books and I played Zoo Tycoon 2 almost exclusively for the dinosaurs. Once I heard about Spore I instantly knew what I would do once I got the game. Make dinosaurs. and sure enough the first thing I did was make a crappy Spinosaur. Since then I have become one of the best and most realistic Dino creators in all of spore. One day I thought, "I wish I had a place to share all my new creations and find out about other people's..." so I started the Lords of the Past. We now have tons of members and are one of the most active threads on the entire Sporums. So active in fact, that we often would leave for a day or two and come back to 10+ new pages to read through some times. Although we were originally a group who talked about prehistory and spore, we have learned that we have other things in common with each other, such as a lot of us have or still play ZT2. So we often found ourselves going off topic and having too many conversations at once for one thread. In an effort to organize topics I decided we should have our own Forums. Thanks to long time member, schnautzr for actually creating these forums ! Another reason I wanted our own forum is because on the sporums many people wanted to make their own contests, but I didn't really want everyone to go make a bunch of threads, all about the LOTP, so now you guys can post member managed contests here!

Dino, you could make an advertising thread for this forum in EuroSpore in the Clubs section. Then, you would become an ambassador

Yes, anyone is most certainly welcome to join! Feel free to be on the forum here. Though if you want to become an official member and be added to the list, there are only a couple specifications: an interest in prehistory, and a prehistoric creation uploaded.Thobewill wrote:Can I join?

Thobe, you mind filling in the Spore username under your contact info? That way I can add you to the Prehistoria watchlist and active members list.

Re: Welcome to the Lords of the Past!
Great! You've been added to the Prehistoria watchlist now. You can expect your most recent prehistoric creations (if I find them of high quality) to either be sporecasted by Christmas or forgotten due to my computer crashing from too large of a backlog. Speaking of which, I think it's time I chop my watchlist member inactivity cutoff from 6 months to 3...that might help me keep the backlog lower.
